David Beck - Elected Supporter Director
April 30th 2008 is a very significant date for me. On that day it will be 50 years to the day since my late Dad took me to my first game and my love affair with this wonderful football club really began. The game was against Cardiff and as has seemed many many times since, the club were fighting a relegation battle – at that time to stay in the old division two. Winning five games on the trot had seen us needing to beat Cardiff at home in the last game. We duly did 3-1 in front of a crowd of 18001 and as this was my first game I like to think I was that extra 1!!

Elected Supporter Director - David Beck
I have followed the Imps home and away since even though since the mid 70’s I haven’t lived in Lincoln or indeed Lincolnshire – moving across various parts of the country with work. I have lived in North Oxfordshire for the last 17-18 years but still travel to games home and away, club business, meetings etc– in fact anything connected to LCFC will hopefully see me there! My two young daughters Rosie 14 and Maisie 8 are real fans, with their bedroom walls covered in Imps stuff. Rosie comes to most games home and away, and Maisie has just started to attend a few home games. Whilst my wife Judith is a true Geordie and Newcastle fan first, she too shares our love and support of the club.
My work involves the management of a golf club and I am fortunate it allows me time to devote to the Club. My other great love is cricket, which I still play through the summer. This love of cricket is also shared by the family with Rosie playing for Oxfordshire Girls and Maisie for our local club’s u-9’s. Judith is the taxi driver but loves to watch (fortunately!!)
My Dad was always a voluntary worker for the club and could be seen many days and nights ‘on the door’ of the old supporters club at the ground. I joined the Supporter’s Trust Board not long after it started because I wanted to put something back into the Club. Since then I have been Secretary and Chairman of the Trust. I am currently in my third year as elected Supporter Director. I feel very privileged to have this position and understand the enormous responsibility representing the fans brings. As your representative I am involved with all the Club Board’s business and decision making and I can assure you your views are listened to and respected.
I could spend all day and night talking about this wonderful club. I am in the Trust Suite and around the ground match days and at away matches Why not stop for a chat and let me know what you think! – alternatively I can be contacted via the Club or the Trust website.
Ever onwards and upwards
